Amanda in Harvard – A Summer of Study
Having studied at the great English universities of Oxford and Cambridge, it is with such excitement that I look forward to my summer at Harvard. Eight weeks of study – my subjects are Astronomy, Journalism and Portuguese. Varied I know, but stretching me in lots of directions and building life (as well as neurological) muscle along the way. I could have elected for a summer in the Algarve or continued my Italian studies with a third visit to the Venice Institute. I prefer to save Venice for November with its reduced crowds and comforting watery melancholy. The Algarve, where I spent an entire blissful summer in 1988, will still be there for years to come. And so to another Cambridge, Cambridge MA it is. Should any of you be considering some sharper, edgier living, I hope my posts from Harvard will be a source of inspiration for you to grow and keep growing. That is what this whole magazine is designed to be.

Amazing Amanda what can one say? x
